Day 1:
Drive to Tarangire National Park for game drive in the park. Continue in late afternoon to Lake Manyara. Overnight at Kiboko Bushcamp.
Day 2:
Game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, well known for its tree-climbing lions. The park is a good introduction to the wildlife of Tanzania and has a variety of habitats in a relatively small area: ground water forest, grass plains, and acacia woodland. Overnight at Kiboko Bushcamp.
Day 3:
Continue to Lake Natron via Engaruka its implosion crater. Walk up Engare Sero gorge to the waterfalls and visit the shore of Lake Natron. Overnight at Lake Natron Camp.
Day 4:
Continue to Serengeti via Sonjo and Wasso. Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge.
Day 5:
Game drive in northern and central Serengeti. Overnight at Kirawira Game Lodge.
Day 6:
Game drive and/or hikes in Serengeti. There are the options of game drives, hiking, visiting a gold mine that uses traditional methods of extracting gold, and visiting the local village and its traditional life. Overnight Kirawira Game Lodge.
Day 7-9:
Day in Serengeti with options of game drive, walking and visiting local village. Overnight Serengeti Wildlife Lodge.
Day 10:
Continue to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge. The road passes through the central part of the Serengeti and the Serengeti Plain, where between late December and May the large herds will be concentrated. Afternoon in Ngorongoro Crater. This is a good opportunity of seeing the elusive rhino and if you haven’t already seen enough lions you will get your fill of them here. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the very few places that has such an abundance of animals in such a small area and in so many varying habitats. Exit the crater in late afternoon. Overnight at Kiboko Bushcamp
Day 11:
Return after breakfast to Arusha.
